A guard turnout held at the regimental headquarters on Sunday (12) to the former DEME Dte of EME Brig V Weerakkody.
At the entrance to the Regimental headquarters of SLEME, the visiting Brig V Weerakkody reviewed the guard turnout at first, and afterwards invited to the tea party at the regimental headquarters of SLEME.
Later in the evening a customary farewell ceremony bade farewell to the outgoing Brig V Weerakkody. During that colorful ceremony Maj Gen MAAD Sirinaga presented him with a replica of a sward as a memento and extended the SLEME greetings for his future prospects. Brig V Weerakkody addressed the gathering and thanked each and every one in SLEME for their support during his tenure, further he shared couple of thoughts with the audience. He also left in signature in the RHQ SLEME VIP Book.
A street line was arranged later on extended greetings of all officers to the outgoing senior officer.
