The honorable president of Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Dr.(Mrs) Himali Niyangoda, honorable vice president Thushari Abeysinghe, Centre Commandant SLAGSC Colonel T G N De Silva with the coordination of Commanding Officer 2 (V) SLAGSC Major P D S N Gunarathna and the staff successfully launched another project on 19.06.2024 to benefit the children in need, identifying the under-privileged schools within the area. Subsequently, WP/ Homagama Dolahena Primary School was selected largely considering the said factor and the dropping student population of 99 students with 10 teaching staff.
With the enormous support of the contributors and the well wishers the president and the staff of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps gave away school essential to the students of the WP/ Homagama Dolahena Primary School including school bags, water bottles, stationary items, shoes and socks offering a vivid display of generosity in empowering the future minds. Additionally, the children were entertained with several amusement activities aiming at breaking the monotony and fill the young blossoms with positivity. This was followed by a splendid tea and a lavish lunch buffet that stimulated both taste buds and the minds of the youngsters.
Being a renowned Sri Lankan elite, the honorable president of Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Dr.(Mrs) Himali Niyangoda addressed the children and the staff of the school interactively illuminating them of the necessity of taking the maximum benefit of this project was to reap the best out of the gift of free education. The students and the staff expressed their overwhelming thoughts of gratitude to the organizing body.
