TAKING OVER DUTIES AS THE 9TH COMMANDING OFFICER OF THE 3RD BATTALION OF SRI LANKA ARMY GENERAL SERVICE CORPS.

Major PAS Cooray USP assumed duties as the 9th Commanding Officer of the 3rd Battalion of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps on 16 Feb 2023. She is the first lady officer to take over a Commanding Officer Appointment in the Unit. A formal ceremony was held which included a Guard Turnout, a parade and paid tribute to the fallen war heroes by offering a floral wreath at the monument.

The Commanding Officer took over duties signing an official document amid religious observances. She subsequently planted a sapling in the Unit premises to mark the assumption of duties and later attended the all Ranks Tea party. All Officers and Other Ranks of the Unit extended warm wishes to the newly appointed Commanding Officer for a successful tenure.
