Major General M W T C Mettananda USP ndc assumed duties as the 15th Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps amid religious blessings at the Regimental Centre on Thursday, 01 September 2022.
Newly appointed Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by Colonel N A S C Perera, the Centre Commandant and honoured with a guard turnout and Battalion Parade followed by offering floral tribute to the Regimental War Heroes’ monument. Later, Major General M W T C Mettananda USP ndc signed a formal document & marked the assumption of his new office amidst blessings of the maha sanga at the presence of council members, Senior Officers and Regimental Staff at the RHQ SLAGSC.
As a formality, the newly appointed Colonel Commandant Maj Gen Chanaka Mettananda addressed all ranks before he joined the all rank tea party. He also inspected accommodation areas of the other Ranks and later addressed the Sports teams to lift their moral Standards.
