It is with deep regret and profound sadness that the Colonel Commandant, all Officers and Other Ranks of RHQ SLAGSC announce the demise of Colonel F S Kasturiarachchi (Rtd) on 06 September 2021 while being hospitalized at Lanka Hospital -Colombo due to Covid - 19.
Colonel F S Kasturiarachchi (Rtd) was born on23 December 1923 and after completion of his School education he joined the Sri Lanka Army as an officer cadet on 01 May 1952.He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant on 01 May 1952.
During his illustrious military career, he rendered his servicesto the Army in different capacities Some of the significant appointments among them were:
Colonel F S Kasturiarachchi (Rtd) served the Army and the country with utmost dedication, displaying exemplary qualities as an officer and gentleman for over 26 years and retired from the service on 12 November 1978.
The last rites of Colonel F S Kasturiarachchi (Rtd) was held at 0930 hrs on 07 September 2021 at the General Cemetery Borella.
Sir, your name and exemplary service to the Army will always be remembered. You will remain as a true son of Mother Lanka forever.
