SLAGSC SVB managed ward No 05 at the National Institution of Mental Health , Sri Lanka at Mulleriyawa got underway on Sunday (16) December 2019 with cooperation of ASVU.
Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President ASVU graced the occasion as the chief guest. The event was coloured with a musical and dancing session, presented by Carole team of Dte of Army Dancing and Performing Arts. During this event, the ward No 05 was decorated for Christmas and as a symbol Santa Clause gave away gift parcels to patients and SLAGSC SVB Donated a cupboard, slippers, sanitary items and ready-made under garments for intimates and Dr Dammika Wijesinghe, Deputy Director NIHM, accepted those donations.
Mrs Deepa Handunmulla, President, SLAGSC SVB warmly welcomed the chief guest. A brief vote of thank was delivered by a Matron, Mrs Pranetha Wijegunarathna of the ward No 05 set off the proceedings for the Christmas feast.
Further, all patients in the ward No 05 were given a delicious meal whilst president and senior members of SLAGSC SVB interacted with the patients and the hospital staff.
The event was coordinated by Commanding officer, 2nd Battalion Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps along with all members of the unit. The Centre Commandant of RHQ SLAGSC, The Regimental Staff including Lady Officers and other ranks attended this event.
