The SLAGSC Officers' Training Day for the 1st quarter of 2019 was conducted at RHQ SLAGSC, Panagoda on 07 March 2019 as per the directions of Army HQ. The training programme for the day commenced with physical training parade at 0600 hrs with the participation of Colonel Commandant, council members, senior officers and approximately 186 officers which included Legal, Accounts, Agriculture and other professional category officers of SLAGSC.
After the muster parade, sword drill lessons were conducted for junior officers and all senior officers assembled at the RHQ auditorium to listen to a presentation conducted by Maj (Dr) Gayathree Marasinghe SLAMC, from Military Hospital (Colombo) on "Non communicable Diseases and Prevention". Mr George Cooke, Deputy Director at Bandaranayake Centre for International Studies (BCIS) delivered a lecture on "Sri Lanka's Foreign Policy Formulation amid Geopolitics of South Asia" with the participation of 197 x Officers at SLAGSC auditorium on the invitation extended by the Colonel Commandant.
The second session of the training day after lunch commenced at 1400 hrs under the supervision of Colonel Commandant and Senior Officers. A group presentation was conducted and the topic for the presentation was "Traffic Congestion in Sri Lanka and Its Effects to the Economy/Social Life" . The team headed by CO, 3 SLAGSC (P&R) Lt Col Chandana Kodithuwakku conducted very informative presentation which received positive and encouraging comments from the audience.
The day's proceedings came to an end with recreational training in the evening. Centre Commandant and the staff of RHQ SLAGSC under the instructions of the Colonel Commandant made the Quarterly Officers' Training Day a success.
