Major General Wajira Palihakkara assumed duties as the 9th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps amid religious blessings and cheerful gathering at the Regimental Centre on Thursday (31) August 2017. Newly appointed Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Col M W T C Mettananda, Centre Commandant and then honoured with the Guard Turnout presented by the troops of Regiment. Soon, charming and elegant parade was displayed at the Regimental Parade ground. Afterwards, Maj Gen Wajira Palihakkara placed his signature in the first official document to mark his assuming duty, amidst chanting of Seth Pirith in the presence of senior officers.
All Ranks tea party took place at the Cpls’ Club RHQ SLAGSC. The day event terminated with officers addressed by the Colonel Commandant Maj Gen Wajira Palihakkara.
