Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps women's kabaddi team emerged Champions for the 3rd consecutive year at the Inter Regiment Kabaddi Championship - 2018 conducted by the Army Kabaddi Sports Committee defeating Sri Lanka Army Womens' Corps kabaddi team. The tournament was held at the Army Gymnasium at Panagoda Cantonment from 16 to 18 October 2018.
S/O103198 Private Mannapperuma M M E S S of 2nd Battalion Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (Volunteer) was adjudged the "Best Player" and S/O103222 Private Wijegunarathne S M of the 5th Battalion Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (Volunteer) was adjudged the "Best Defender" of the tournament under women's category.
SLAGSC Mens' kabaddi team became Runners up when they lost the final match to Engineer Service Regiment team at the last minutes of the game. S/703370 Lance Corporal Halgalage H S M of the 3rd Battalion Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (Pay & Records) was adjudged the "Best Defender" of the tournament under men's category.
Maj Gen Wajira Palihakkara USP, Director General Financial Management and Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps graced the occasion as the Chief Guest on the invitation of Maj Gen Sanath Perera, Chairman Sri Lanka Army Kabaddi Sports Committee and Commander - Logistic Command. Senior officers including Maj Gen Jagath Gunawardena, Colonel Commandant Engineers Services Regiment, Brig Kumara Handunmulla, Director Assets Management, Brig Leslie Wijesundara RSP, Director Pay & Records, Brig Chanaka Weragoda USP, Centre Commandant SLAGSC along with the large number of spectators from all Regiments were present to witness the finals and the closing ceremony of the Inter Regiment Kabaddi Tournament - 2018.
