Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Kabaddi team emerged Champions at the Inter Regiment Circle Kabaddi Championship - 2018 conducted by the Army Kabaddi Sports Committee defeating Sri Lanka Army Corps of Military Police Kabaddi team. The tournament was held at the Philip Gunawardena ground at Avissawella from 26 to 27 December 2018 with the participation of seven (07) Regimental team.
S/74858 Private Wickrama Arachchi A W and S/O101131 Lance Corporal Udayakumara R B D of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps was adjudged the "Best Player" and "Best Defender" of the tournament respectively. S/702902 Corporal Bandara R M R S of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps was adjudged the "Best Raider" of the tournament.
Brig P A Kaluarachchi, Brig (Admin & Log) HQ SLAVF and Chairman Sri Lanka Army Kabaddi Sports Committee grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Senior officers including Brig R K B S Ketakumbura RSP, Centre Comdt, SLAWC, Brig M R K W B Pinnawala RWP RSP USP Project Coord, Army Sports Village, Brig P G M V J Pananwala RSP, Project Officer, SFHQ (West), Lt Col N A S C Perera SLAGSC, Overlooking Centre Commandant SLAGSC along with the large number of spectators from 07 x Regiments were present to witness the finals and the closing ceremony of the Inter Regiment Circle Kabaddi Tournament - 2018.
