SLAGSC SENIOR NON COMMISSIONED OFFICERS RECEIVE PROMOTIONS TO MARK THE VISIT BY COMMANDER OF THE ARMY TO THE REGIMENT

A large number of Warrant Officers and Senior Non Commissioned Officers from Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps were promoted by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lt Gen Mahesh Senanayake on a request made by the acting Deputy Chief of Staff & Colonel Commandant, SLAGSC Maj Gen Vajira Palihakkara to mark the ceremonial visit by a Commander of the Army to the Regiment after a lapse of nearly 38 years.

A total of 16 x Warrant Officers II were promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer I, 127 x Staff Sergeants to the ranks of Warrant Officer II and 68 x Sergeants to the rank of Staff Sergeants which is a unprecedented record in the recent history of SLAGSC. The new promotions with add more colour and pride to the Regiment and to new WOs' & Sgts' Mess declared opened by Commander of the Army on 23 May 2019.

All promotions will be effective from 22 May 2019 as per the Directorate of Personnel Administration, AHQ letter A/33/11/14 (29) dated 22 May 2019.

A special ceremony presided by Brig Chanaka Weragoda, Centre Commandant was held to award the promotions to the respective Warrant Officers and Senior NCOs at the RHQ Auditorium. Senior Staff Officers of RHQ and Commanding Officers of respective battalions along with Regimental and unit RSMs witnessed the event.
