SLAGSC launched a Regimental Magazine "Abhiman Piyawara" reflecting 68 years of history and the achievements of the Regiment. Its first copy was officially handed over to Commander of the Army on 13 June 2019 at Commander's Office by Major General W R Palihakkara VSV USP, the Col Comdt, SLAGSC.
The magazine was published by the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps as the first regimental magazine in 68 years and it will be an annual publication by the Regimental Editorial Board.
The "Abhiman Piyawara" is a illustrator of the history of the SLAGSC from 1951 when it was inaugurated. It demonstrates how Ceylon Army General Service Corps was expanded up to the level it is now in 2019 as Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps. The Advisory Board of the magazine consists of Major General Wajira Palihakkara, Col Comdt, SLAGSC, Brigadier, Bhuwaneka Gunaratne, Director, Agriculture & Livestock and Brigadier Lesli Wijesundara, Director Pay & Records. Further, it was supervised by Brigadier Chanaka Weragoda, Centre Commandant, RHQ SLAGSC and Maj Sujith Chaminda made it a reality as the Editor.
