The SLAGSC officers training day for the 3rd quarter of 2018 was conducted at RHQ SLAGSC, Panagoda on 04 September 2018. Training programme for the day commenced with Physical Training parade at 0600 hrs with the participation of Colonel Commandant, council members, senior officers and approximately about 186 x officers including Legal, Accounts, Agriculture and other professional category officers of SLAGSC.
After the muster parade, sword drill lessons were conducted for junior officers and all senior Offrs assembled at the RHQ auditorium to listened to a presentation conducted by Maj M L S B Wijerathna psc SLA, SO 2 (ACR) MS Branch, AHQ on ''Initiation of Annual Confidential Reports''. After the tea break Dr. Lakshika Liyanage, Senior Lecturer at Sir John Kothalawala Defence University delivered a lecture on "Stress Management" for 02 hours for all 223 x Officers at the SLAGSC Auditorium.
The 2nd session of the Trg day after lunch commenced at 1400 hrs with Lt Col Sampath Liyanage USP SLAGSC, GSO 1 RHQ SLAGSC educating the offrs regarding the instructions letters released by MS Br in respect of taking part of actively / passively in civil and political organization activities including other administrative instructions / Policy letters issued by Army Headquarters. Soon after the lecture Col Comdt SLAGSC addressed all offrs and contents encompassed the importance of conducting training for officers and Other Ranks, necessity of skills and leadership development, keeping with the Commanders Vision of developing a "Capacity based Army and Empowering NCOs / SNCOs without killing their skills", maintaining discipline, adhering to Army Dress Regulations, use of mobile phones during working hours, Army policy on use of social media, importance of attending events organized by the Regiment and progress of construction projects carried out in the RHQ, Trade School and Battalions.
The days proceedings concluded after Recreational training in the evening. Centre Commandant and the staff of RHQ SLAGSC was instrumental in organizing and conduct of the training day.
