SLAGSC CONDUCTS OFFICER'S TRAINING DAY FOR THE 1st QUARTER OF 2020

The SLAGSC Officer's Training Day for the 1st quarter of 2020 was conducted at RHQ SLAGSC Panagoda on 22 January 2020 as per the directions of Army HQ. The training programme for the day commenced with the Physical Training Parade at 0600 hrs with the participation of Senior Officers/Officers and approximately 180 which included Legal, Accounts, Agriculture and other professional officers of SLAGSC.

After the muster parade, sword and cane drill were conducted for junior officers. Simultaneously there was a lecture conducted by Maj R K Atigalla on the topic of ‘New Health Tips for Longevity’ to the senior officers. After the tea all officers assembled at the RHQ Auditorium for a very informative lecture conducted by Dr George Cooke, Deputy Director, BCIS under the topic of "Iran and America Conflict and Its Impacts".

The second half of the day was started with a presentation conducted by the team from 4 SLAGSC (P & R) on a topic of “Solid Waste Management" which received positive and encouraging comments from the audience. After the evening tea, Col Sudath Udayasena, Brigadier Record & Planning (Overlooking) at RAP & D branch conducted a lecture for establishing Research Assessment Coord Cell at Regtl lvl. Lecture was enriched with motivation and encouragement for young officers to look for new invention and think out of box.

The day's proceedings came to an end with a officers' Get-together organized at Offers' Mess RHQ – SLAGSC. The dancing practice session which was conducted by the Artists from Army Band & Performing Arts was taken place making high attention from the gathering. The Centre Comdt and the Staffs of RHQ SLAGSC, under the instructions of Col Comdt made the First Officers' Training Day of the year 2020 is a success.
