The Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps marked her 68th anniversary on 28 Nov 2019. It was celebrated on 02nd and 03rd of December 2019 with several programmes. The day procedures commenced with a ceremonial guard turnout to Colonel Commandant Major General CK Handunmulla on 02nd December followed by the parade which was commanded by Lt Col KADCJ Kodithuwakku at the Regimental Parade Square. The parade was reviewed by the Colonel Commandant and Col VE Weerakkody Lsc, Centre Commandant, RHQ SLAGSC accompanied him. .
During the troop address, Col Comdt emphasized the career progression of Officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment. He stressed the importance of maintaining discipline and taking part in training schedules plan by the regiment and units. Further, he appreciated the achievements of sport activities which were added glamour to the Regiment..
Soon after the parade, wreath laying ceremony at the Regimental Monument for war heroes was taken place and Colonel Commandant, all Officers and ORs paid tribute for war heroes who made the supreme sacrifices during the war. Afterwards, all officers and other ranks participated for the all rank tea organized at Cpls’ Club. Day proceedings were concluded with the All Rank Launch at Cpl’s Club and on the following day Mega Musical Show was organized for the other ranks in the Regiment and many reputed artists made the show colourful.
