SLAGSC BIDS FAREWELL TO MAJOR GENERAL K A D S L PERERA Lsc

Maj Gen K A D S L Perera, Commander, Army Logistics Command and second senior most serving SLAGSC officer retired from the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army after 33 years of distinguished service to the nation on 25 October 2018. In keeping with the military traditions the outgoing General Officer was accorded a farewell parade consisting of troops from all SLAGSC units at the Regimental parade square which was followed by an all ranks tea party organized by RHQ SLAGSC at the Regimental Auditorium premises.

During his tour of duty in addition to Grade I, II & III appointments at formations / AHQ and unit level appointments Maj Gen Sanath Perera held the under mentioned senior and important appointments in the Sri Lanka Army.

- Centre Commandant, SLAGSC
- Colonel (Admin /Quartering), 21 Division, 68 Division & HQ SLAVF
- Director, Pay & Records AHQ
- Commander, Forward Maintenance Area (North)
- Commander, Army Logistics Command

The senior officer concerned followed many local and foreign training courses including Infantry Young Officer Course - 58 at Infantry School, MHOW, India and Logistic Staff Course at Army School of Logistics, Murree, Pakistan. He served as Vice President of Army Buddhist Association and took keen interest to develop Kabaddi sport in the Army as Chairman and Vice Chairman of Army Kabaddi Sports Committee.

A farewell dinner in honour of Maj Gen Sanath Perera and Mrs Harshanthi Perera Vice President of SLAGSC Seva Vanitha Branch was held at the Regimental Officers' Mess on the same day evening under the patronage of Maj Gen Wajira Palihakkara USP Colonel Commandant, SLAGSC and Mrs Kamani Palihakkara, President SLAGSC Seva Vanitha Branch. All council members and their spouses, senior and junior officers of SLAGSC attended the dinner adding glamour and colour to the event organized under the supervision of Brig Chanaka Weragoda USP, Centre Commandant and CO of RHQ Officers' Mess along with his staff. All ranks of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps wishes a happy and a peaceful retirement life to the General Officer.
