Seva Vanitha Branch of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps organised a traditional new year festival to mark the Sinhala and Tamil new year on Tuesday ( 09 April ) at the SLAGSC ground with the participation of large crowd of gathering.

Major General WWHRRVMNDKB Niyangoda RWP VSV USP ndu psc the Colonel Commandant together with Dr. (Mrs) Himali Niyangoda, the President of Seva Vanitha Branch of SLAGSC graced the occasion as the Chief guest.

Eye placing on the elephant, lime balancing, bun eating obstacle race, changing musical hat, cadjan weaving pillow fights, breaking the pot, tug of war, sack race, searching for the hidden guest, egg game, feeding yoghurt to the blind , fancy dress parade, selection of new year prince and 'Awrudu kumari' and a number of other traditional and fun making games were held during the festival.

Valuable gifts were given away to winners in different competitions and gifts were sponsored by the Directorate of Legal Services, Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.

The cooperative support of the 4 Battalions made this event a huge success.
