The newly constructed OR’s mess for soldiers in 2 (V) SLAGSC was declared open by the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps with the participation of the Centre Commandant and All Officers on 22 August 2022.
The new OR’s Mess which was constructed by the troops of 2 (V) SLAGSC under the supervision of Commanding Officer and with the support of RHQ SLAGSC, subordinate officers would benefit most of soldiers serving in the battalion. Initiative was taken by the Commanding Officer 2 (V) SLAGSC to uplift the standards,wellbeing and the betterment of military personnel.
The visiting Colonel Commandant was extended a guard turnout by the troops of 2 (V) SLAGSC, and paid floral tributes to War Heroes’Monument. The event was followed by group photograph, troop address, appreciation and distribution of gifts for the players who participated in the Volunteer Athletic Meet 2022.The Colonel Commandant paid a visit to the cultivations grown in the Battalion Headquarters 2 (V) Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps on the same day.
All ranks of the battalion accompanied the Colonel Commandant during the tea party and shared their contentment on the special day.
