With the blessing of the Comd of the Army Lt Gen N U M M W Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC, a sum of Rs. 15 Millions was allocated by the QMG and Director General Engineer Services from Capital Votes for construction of a new Headquarter building for RHQ SLAGSC.
The new cornerstone laying ceremony of the proposed new building at Panagoda cantonment was held on 18 July 2018 at auspicious time. The cornerstone was laid by the Centre Commandant, Colonel W A A C P Weragoda USP along with all Commanding Officers and senior Staff Officers amidst chanting of pirith. The simple religious ceremony was organized by the Regimental staff.
Colonel Commandant, SLAGSC and Director General Financial Management of the Sri Lanka Army Major General W R Palihakkara USP, Commander Logistics Command, Major General K A D S L Perera Lsc, Director Pay & Records Brig L Wijesundera RSP and few council members, large number of senior officers, officers and Other Ranks were associated with the ceremony which was followed by a all ranks tea party.
