Lt Col D M T C Disanayaka SLAGSC took over the duties as the Commanding Officer of 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps on 15 February 2018. He took over the duties from Lt Col V E Weerakkody Lsc SLAGSC who was commanding the unit for more than three years. Lt Col D M T C Disanayaka SLAGSC is the 29th Commanding Officer of 1 SLAGSC.
To mark this occasion sequence of events were organized by the Officers and Other ranks of 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps. Guard turnout and guard of honour was awarded by the troops of 1st Battalion Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps and new Commanding Officer addressed the troops. Later he joined with all ranks tea party.
