A NEW BEAUTY SALON AND A VACATIONAL TRAINING CENTER FOR SLAGSC

Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps declared opened a well equipped “Four Wings Beauty Salon and Vocational Training Centre” with the aim of providing vocational training to other Ranks of SLAGSC and their families in particular and for other Regiments in General. The project was coordinated with the internationally recognized brand name "Dreamron" in collaboration with "Dreamron College of Art and Beauty". Lt Gen N U M M W Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC Commander of the Sri Lanka Army granted approval to commence the project in order to provide much needed vocational training and self-employment opportunities after retirement for male & female Other Ranks. In addition it will provide much needed professional training for the staff employed in Saloons functioning in Regiments/Units Lines.

The training centre mainly focuses on Diploma in Hairdressing and Beauty Culture which is authorized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission of Sri Lanka.

Four Wings Vocational Training Centre will award Diplomas on successful completion of respective courses which will be available under an easy payment scheme.

The construction work was carried out by troops of 2 (V) SLAGSC supervised by Major Asintha Gunasekara, CO 2 (V) SLAGSC under the guidance of SLAGSC Seva Vanitha Branch.

"Four Wings Beauty Salon and the Vocational Training centre" was ceremonially inaugurated on 16 May 2019 at Army Cantonment Panagoda (New Habrakada entrance) by Mrs.Kamani Palihakkara, President Seva Vanitha Branch.

Mrs. Sadanna Nilanthi, Director Dreamron College of Art and Beauty, Brigadier Chanaka Weragoda USP, Centre Commandant along with other senior officers, Commanding Officers of SLAGSC units and senior members of SLAGSC Seva Vanitha Branch attended the simple but Colourful opening ceremony.
