The new canteen facility for all ranks constructed at 1 SLAGSC detachment located in Alla-Kanthale was declared open by Major General Wajira Palihakkara USP, Colonel Commandant SLAGSC on 06 January 2019 on the invitation of Lt Col Thilak Dissanayake, CO - 1 SLAGSC. The detachment was established in year 1978 at its present location and has contributed immensely to Agriculture activities of the Army and played a vital role during operations conducted against terrorists for three decades.
Soon after the opening of the new canteen "Kamatha Cafe" named to recognize the Agricultural activities conducted by the detachment, Colonel Commandant was invited to plant a Mango sapling at the premises which was followed by a troop address and all ranks tea.
Lt Col Sasanka Perera SLAGSC, acting Centre Commandant and Commanding Officers of all SLAGSC Reg/Vol battalions were present to witness the opening of the facility along with RSM, Senior NCOs, NCOs, Other Ranks of 1 SLAGSC.
