A felicitation ceremony was held to honour Major General W G L Padmakumara psc Hdmc who was promoted to the rank of Major General concurently with his retirement. The customary event was unfolded on 31 August 2017 at Regimental Headquarters’ premises, Panagoda with the participation of a large number of officers and Other Ranks. On behalf of the Colonel Commandant, all officers and Other Ranks of the Regiment, the Centre Commandant extended the warm wishes to the newly promoted Major General.
Featuring the traditional event, first, he reviewed the Guard Turnout presented by the Regimental Headquarters and accepted the regimental salute accorded by the Regiment. All officers present were posed for a photograph with the Major General. The day’s event also textured with the Farewell Dinner hosted in honour of the outgoing Major General by all Officers of the Regiment at the Officers’ Mess.
