The Programme of distributing dry ration packs for expectant mothers, spectacles for Army personnel and blood donation campaign organized by the Seva Vanitha Branch of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps, as part of another social responsibility initiated and concepted by the President of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Mrs Eranga Hewawasam, was held at the Corporals’ Club, Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps on 29th July 2022.
Following the directives of the Colonel Commandant, Brigadier HAPPK Hewawasam and guidance of the Centre Commandant, Colonel NASC Perera this blood donation drive was launched to replenish blood supplies maintained at Apeksha Hospital Maharagama. In addition to the blood donation campaign, dry ration packs were distributed amongst 130 expectant mothers/fathers of new born babies and 12 spectacles were offered to Army personnel attached to Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps and officially handed over 100 spectacles to the Commanding Officers of the Battalions in order to be offered to the necessitous Army personnel.
A large number of Army personnel including Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated to the programme for making this magnanimous effort a success.
