Director General Financial Management, AHQ and Col Comdt, SLAGSC, Maj Gen Wajira Palihakkara USP made a surprise visit to Menik Farm at Cheddikulam, Vavuniya on 3 March 2019 to receive first-hand knowledge with regard to progress made by the 5 SLAGSC (V) troops relocated from Army Farms at Nachchikuda and Wellamkulam. The troops were relocated at the Menik Farm on 11 January 2019 after the farm lands were released to Govt as directed by Army HQ.
The visit concluded after the DGFM/Col Comdt addressed of troops and educated them regarding the need to maintain discipline, conduct of weekly military training, maintaining the Army farms to the highest standards to earn revenue to the government and to be aware of welfare, medical and other facilities available for Army personnel.
