COLONEL COMMANDANT FELICITATED BY HIS ALMA MATER

Major General Wajira Palihakkara, acting Deputy Chief of Staff, Director General Financial Management, AHQ and Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps, a distinguished old boy of Dharmaraja College Kandy (DRCK) was felicitated by his alma mater on 29 May 2019 at the DRCK auditorium. The event was organized by the DRCK Old Boys Union 79/80 Group.

Major General Wajira Palihakkara studied at Dharmaraja College, Kandy from 1970 to 1983 until he joined the Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet along with SLMA Intake 19.

The event was graced by Mr. Dampiya Wanasinghe Principal DRCK, Past Principals Mr A P Gunaratne, Mr. Ashoka Herath and Mr. S M Keerthiratne (Present Principal, Ananda College Colombo).

A Short video clip and profile of the General Officer was presented to the audience before the felicitation took place. The college cadet platoon accorded a street lining. Before commencement of the days proceedings floral tributes were paid to the war heroes' monument at Lake View hill by all senior officers who were felicitated along with Major General Wajira Palihakkara, the senior most serving old Rajan in the Tri Forces.

Major General Wajira Palihakkara addressed the audience on the invitation of the organizing committee. He profusely thanked the organizing committee headed by Mr. Narada Nambuge, (President of DRCK OBU 79/80 Group) for organizing a magnificent ceremony felicitate the class mates serving in Sri Lanka Army and Air Force holding flag ranks. He paid tribute to the principal, Staff and Student of DRCK for support extended and Past Principals an Past teachers for gracing the occasion. The parents, family members of the felicitated senior officers too witnessed the event with pride & honour.
