The Commando Regiment Avurudu Festival 2026, organised by the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch (CR-SVB), was successfully held on 25 April 2026 at the Regimental Centre of the Commando Regiment.
Major General K.H.M.S. Wickramaratne RSP (Retd), former CR Colonel of the Regiment and Mrs. Samindie Wickramaratne, former Chairperson of CR-SVB, graced the event as Chief Guests.
The festival featured a variety of traditional New Year games, encouraging participation and enjoyment among attendees of all ages.
As part of the celebration, 119 civilian workers of the CR were presented with special gift packs comprising clothing and other essential items. In addition, all children attending the event received New Year gifts.
Major General H.D.L.S. Perera RWP RSP ndc, Deputy Commander, Security Forces (West) and Colonel of the Regiment of the CR, Mrs. Randima Perera, Chairperson of CR-SVB, members of the CR-SVB, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and civilian employees, along with their family members, participated in the event.
