ASVU Holds Second Quarter Meeting – 2026

The second quarter meeting of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) for 2026 was held on 21 April 2026 at the Army Headquarters.

Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, President of ASVU, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Chairpersons of the Seva Vanitha Branches representing all regiments participated in the meeting.

The proceedings commenced with the singing of the ASVU song, followed by two minutes silence in remembrance of fallen war heroes. Thereafter, a short documentary highlighting the welfare and other activities of ASVU and Regimental Seva Vanitha Branches was screened. Subsequently, the President addressed the gathering and appointed the following senior members to vacant positions of the Executive Committee in accordance with the ASVU Constitution:

Vice President – Mrs. Darshani Yahampath
Secretary – Mrs. Vindya Premarathne
Assistant Secretary – Mrs. Udari Anupama Gamage
Public Relations Officer – Mrs. Sumangali Pathiravithana
Assistant Public Relations Officer – Mrs. Damayanthi Bandaranayaka
Project in-Charge Coordinator – Mrs. Swetha Hewage

Subsequently, the Secretary of ASVU, Mrs. Vindya Premarathne, presented the minutes of the previous meeting, while the Treasurer, Major A.S.N. Hathurusinghe, presented the audit report.

Thereafter, the President provided guidance on the effective management of newly introduced welfare programmes and the continuation of annual welfare projects for the benefit of war heroes.

The meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, followed by a tea reception arranged on behalf of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year and a group photograph.
