SLNG-SVB Visits Families of Fallen War Heroes

Members of the Sri Lanka National Guard Seva Vanitha Branch (SLNG-SVB) visited the families of fallen war heroes of the SLNG residing in the Kurunegala District on 11 March 2026.

The purpose of the visit was to inquire into the wellbeing of the families of soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation due to both operational and non-operational causes and to identify any immediate needs they may have.

During the visit, the families of the following fallen soldiers who laid down their lives due to operational causes while serving in the 2 SLNG were met: Corporal K.A. Jayawardena (Late), Lance Corporal E.M.S. Sisira Kumara Ekanayake (Late) and Lance Corporal S.A.P. Priyantha (Late). The members also visited the family of Corporal H.K. Karunaratne (Late), who passed away due to non-operational causes.

During the visits, dry ration packs were donated to the respective families as a gesture of support and appreciation for their sacrifice.

The visit was conducted under the guidance of Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, Colonel of the Regiment of SLNG, and with the instructions of Mrs. Kumarie Pallekumbura, Chairperson of SLNG-SVB.
