A newly constructed house for a soldier of the Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) was vested in his family on 04 March 2026 at Galgamuwa, Mahananneriya. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, together with Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
During the programme, the President of ASVU presented electrical appliances and dry rations to the beneficiary family. School accessories were also distributed among 10 school children in the area.
Subsequently, Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, Colonel of the Regiment of the SLNG, together with Kumari Pallekumbura, Chairperson of the SLNG Seva Vanitha Branch, presented essential furniture required for the new house.
Addressing the gathering, the beneficiary soldier expressed his sincere gratitude to the Army and the ASVU for providing a secure home for him and his family.
Members of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were also present at the event.
