Under the guidance of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, the 9th phase of the Welfare Camp and Donation Programme was conducted by the Directorate of Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation on 24 February 2026 at the 22 Infantry Division, covering the Trincomalee District.
The programme was organised to support disabled soldiers using prosthetic limbs and surgical appliances, medically retired soldiers, next of kin of fallen War Heroes, and family members of serving soldiers.
During the programme, an eye clinic was conducted for soldiers injured in the line of duty and their family members. Wheelchairs and walking aids were distributed among the beneficiaries. More than 1,500 individuals participated in the programme, and lunch was provided to all attendees by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) under the supervision of Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, President of the ASVU.
Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, retired Army personnel, and their family members were present at the event.
