A financial aid programme conducted by the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) took place on 25 November 2025 at Army Headquarters. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, attended the event as the Chief Guest, together with Mrs Swendrini Dissanayake, President of the ASVU.
During the programme, medical assistance of Rs. 100,000.00 each was provided to two soldiers. Financial aid was also extended to a soldier of 4 SLNG to purchase milk powder for his twin children, amounting to Rs. 96,000.00, including instalments of Rs. 8,000.00 and Rs. 40,000.00.
Further, assistance was granted for the completion of partially constructed houses previously supported under earlier housing programmes. This included final grants of Rs. 200,000.00 and Rs. 150,000.00 to two disabled war heroes wounded during the humanitarian operation. Additionally, Rs. 150,000.00 and Rs. 100,000.00 were allocated for the completion of houses belonging to a soldier and a civilian employee.
The total financial contribution made for the welfare of Army personnel through this programme amounted to Rs. 848,000.00.
