President of ASVU Inspects Renovation Work at Welisara National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases

As part of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit’s (ASVU) ongoing welfare initiatives to support the civilian community, renovation work commenced at the National Hospital for Respiratory Diseases in Welisara on 25 October 2025. The project is coordinated by Dr. Rasika Perera, President of the Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit and carried out under the guidance of Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit.

To review the progress of the renovation, an inspection visit was conducted on 18 November 2025. Dr. Rasika Perera and Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake jointly observed the ongoing improvements to the hospital facilities.

During the visit, both the Presidents commended and encouraged the troops of 1st Engineer Service Regiment and 6th Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, involved in the renovation work, uplifting their morale and emphasizing the importance of their contribution to improving patient care.
