The eighth phase of the series of multidisciplinary medical camps was conducted covering the Puttalam District at the 58 Infantry Division Headquarters on 21 October 2025, with the participation of approximately 2,000 disabled war heroes, retired personnel and next of kin of fallen soldiers, providing them with medical care and assistance.
Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, attended the event as the Chief Guest, together with Mrs Swendrini Dissanayake, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU).
During the programme, 16 wheelchairs, 100 crutches, 5 walking aids and 5 walking sticks were donated with the support of the ASVU and the sponsorship of the 88th Batch of Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo and Philanthropist.
In addition, an eye clinic was also conducted during the programme, during which 300 pairs of spectacles were distributed. Furthermore, lunch was provided to all attendees.
Members of the ASVU, senior officers, officers and other ranks participated in the event.
