The Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) organised a sewing workshop for the spouses of Officers and Other Ranks residing at the Manning Town Married Quarters on 07 October 2025, with the objective of empowering participants with practical skills for self-employment.
Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake, President of the ASVU, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Roshani Anthony and Mrs. Neloni Senanayake from Festal Enterprises.
During the session, participants received training in stitching school uniforms, aimed at enhancing their ability to engage in self-employment.
Concluding the event, the President of the ASVU and Mrs. Samindi Wickramaratne, Chairperson of the Commando Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, presented tokens of appreciation to the resource personnel in recognition of their valuable contribution.
