Viru Kekulu Pre School Children Celebrate World Children’s Day

The children of Viru Kekulu Pre Schools at Pallekele, Diyathalawa and Panagoda celebrated World Children’s Day on 30 September and 01 October 2025 with a range of engaging activities.

At Pallekele, the event was graced by Major General T.C.M.G.S.T Cooray RWP RSP USP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding, 11 Infantry Division, and Mrs. Dilani Wickramasinghe, Senior member of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit. Children showcased their talents through drawing, singing, dancing, and play in a bouncing castle, concluding with the distribution of gifts.

In Diyathalawa, the celebrations included cultural performances, games and creative activities. Brigadier D.D.D Serasinghe USP, Project Officer of Security Forces (Central), attended as the Chief Guest and gifts and refreshments were distributed to the children.

Meanwhile, at Panagoda, the event at the Indoor Stadium on 30 September 2025 was graced by Mrs. Udari Udugama, Chairperson of Gajaba Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch. The programme featured dances, musical acts, face painting, and a bouncing castle, bringing joy and excitement to the children.

Meanwhile, the children of Viru Kekulu Preschool, Manning Town, celebrated World Children’s Day on 29 September 2025.

Mrs. Lilanthi Dolage, Vice President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit and Lady in Charge of Viru Kekulu Preschool, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The programme featured a welcome speech by a student, followed by fun-filled activities such as face painting, colouring, playing with bouncers and pearl games. During the event, the children were also provided with ice cream, chocolates, and gifts, making the day even more memorable for them.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by a student, after which all participants gathered for a group photograph and enjoyed a tea reception.
