In parallel with the 76th Army Anniversary and World Children’s Day, the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) organized a musical evening and prize giving ceremony for the children of the Pamunugama Surasa Balika Child Development Centre on 30 September 2025.
Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, together with Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake, President of the ASVU.
Upon their arrival, the Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by two children with the offering of a sheaf of betel leaves. The programme commenced with a musical performance. Following this, gift packs were presented to the children, which included uniform materials and beauty packs, sponsored by 4ever Skin Naturals (Pvt) Ltd. In addition, gift parcels containing essential items were distributed among the staff of the Centre as a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated service.
Afterwards, a group photograph was taken and the event concluded with the ASVU offering dinner for the children.
Members of the ASVU, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
