A Blood Donation Campaign from Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment

A commendable social welfare initiative, organized under the guidance of Mrs. Damayanthi Bandaranayake, the Chairperson of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Seva Vanitha Branch, and Major General Nalin Bandaranayake USP, Colonel of the Regiment and Commander, Security Forces (Central), was successfully held on 22th May 2025.

The blood donation campaign, conducted at the Salute Reception Hall of the Regiment, was organized in collaboration with the Blood Transfusion Centre of the Kurunegala Teaching Hospital. This initiative formed part of a broader series of social responsibility programmes launched by the Seva Vanitha Branch, aiming to strengthen national healthcare services and promoting community well-being.

Approximately 200 participants including the Chairperson and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Officers and Other Ranks of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, local civilians came forward to donate blood generously.

The event was effectively coordinated by the Seva Vanitha Branch in partnership with the 5th Battalion and the 3rd (Volunteer) Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
