ASVU Conducts Welfare Programme at Suhadagama School

The Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) conducted a welfare programme at Suhadagama School, Horowpothana in Anuradhapura on 08 May 2025, which included the renovation of school buildings, distribution of stationery to students, dry ration packs to parents, and gift packs to teachers, followed by lunch.

Mrs Swendrini Dissanayake, President of the ASVU, attended the event as the Chief Guest, along with Mrs Iresha Perera, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police.

The President visited the newly refurbished shrine room and inspected the upgraded park, lavatory facilities, library and classrooms. The event concluded with a tea party and a student variety show. Gift parcels were also distributed during the programme.

The President commended the efforts of the troops of the 211 Infantry Brigade, 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment, and 2 (V) Engineer Service Regiment for assisting in the renovation process. The Commander, Security Forces (Wanni), Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, teachers, students and parents participated in the event.
