‘ Viru Prathibha - 2025’ Concert Uplifts Spirits of Army Civil Staff and War Hero Families

As part of the ongoing Government-led ‘Clean Sri Lanka’ programme, a wide range of welfare programmes are being implemented for War Heroes, Civil Staff and their families under the guidance and the supervision of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, and Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake, Chairperson of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU).

Marking another milestone of the legacy of the welfare service of ASVU, the ‘Viru Prathibha - 2025’ music and cultural concert was held on 30th March 2025 at the Nelum Pokuna Theatre with the aim to uplift the mental health and wellbeing while providing entertainment for the War Heroes, Civil Staff and their families.

The distinguished guests were warmly welcomed to the occasion upon their arrival by Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Chief of Staff and ceremoniously escorted to the venue.

Air Marshal V.B. Edirisinghe WWV RWP RSP and three Bars USP fndu (China) psc qhi the Commander of the Air Force along with Mrs. Krishanthi Edirisinghe, Chairperson of the Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit and over 5,000 personnel including Senior Officers, Other Ranks and civilians were attended the event reflecting the strong support and appreciation for the initiative.

A lineup of renowned Sri Lankan vocalists captivated the audience with their vibrant performances and the Army Music Band and Dancing Group, operating under the Directorate of Army Band & Performing Arts, delivered an impressive dance, bringing the spirit of ‘Viru Prathibha - 2025’ to life with professionalism and flair.
