Under the guidance of the Directorate of Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, war heroes undergoing treatment at Army-managed rehabilitation centres visited the Jaffna Peninsula from 24 to 26 March 2025.
The participants travelled by train from Colombo Fort to Kankesanthurai and were warmly welcomed by Mrs. Swendrini Dissanayake, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), along with members of the ASVU. Then, they were offered refreshment packs upon arrival at the Kankesanthurai Railway Station.
They then toured several prominent locations in the Jaffna area. Lunch was arranged at Thalsevana Resort, where Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, joined the participants and interacted with them.
Concluding the visit, the Commander of the Army and the President of the ASVU presented valuable souvenirs to the war heroes.
