Under the guidance of Mrs. Ayesha Liyanage, the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB), and in line with International Women’s Day, a donation programme was conducted on 09 March 2025 to support a female soldier of the SLSC.
The beneficiary, a single mother, is solely responsible for managing all family expenses while living in a rented house without additional support. Her triplet daughters are currently studying in grade one at Mariya Rajini Primary School, Katana. Recognising her challenges, the SLSC-SVB stepped forward to provide much-needed assistance by offering financial support.
Meanwhile, as part of a long-term welfare initiative, passion fruit trees were planted in the camp premises. This initiative aims to generate future revenue by selling the produce, with the proceeds dedicated to the welfare of soldiers.
