The Diyatalawa Viru Kekulu Pre-School, operated under the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, organized a spectacular variety show to showcase the artistic talents of its young learners. The event, held on 21st January 2025, at the Torch Cinema Hall in Ella, bringing children, parents, and officials together in a celebration of creativity and education.
This initiative of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit was organized as a part of its broader mission to run pre-schools and day-care centres across the country, providing quality education and welfare opportunities not only for the children of War Heroes but also for non-army personnel.
The variety show served as a platform for the children to exhibit their skills through a series of vibrant performances. Seva Vanitha Senior Member Mrs. Sunethra Chandraskara attended the occasion as the Chief Guest. She was warmly welcomed by the pre-school children greeting her with a traditional betel nut gesture, symbolizing respect and hospitality.
The ceremony began with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, followed by the pre-school song, which set the tone for the event. The children then enthralled the audience with their artistic performances, including captivating dances, melodious songs, and delightful rhymes. Each performance was executed with charm and creativity, leaving the attendees thoroughly entertained and proud of the young talents.
Brigadier (Administration/Quartering) of the Security Force Headquarters (Central), Brigadier K.M.J.N.R.K Chandrasekara, along with Senior Officers, Officers, teachers, staff, and parents, also took part in the event.
