The Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch, under the inspiring leadership of Dr. (Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalaratne, President of the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch, successfully organized a significant school item donation programme on 19th January 2025. The event held at the Regimental Centre of the Gemunu Watch, was conducted under the supervision of Major General W.B.J.K Wimalaratne RWP RSP, Colonel of the Regiment.
This benevolent initiative aimed to support the education of the children of the Gemunu Watch family. A total of 2,350 school accessory packs, valued at four million rupees, were prepared and distributed as part of the programme. During the event, 74 school children of soldiers were symbolically presented with essential school supplies, symbolizing the broader distribution to all beneficiaries.
Following the donation session, attendees paid tribute to the fallen War Heroes with a visit to the War Heroes' Monument and explored the Museum at the Regimental Centre. The day’s activities concluded with refreshments and a lunch hosted for nearly 250 participants, creating a warm and inclusive environment for the families.
The occasion was graced by Dr. (Mrs.) Dilrukshi Wimalaratne, Major General W.B.J.K Wimalaratne RWP RSP, Centre Commandant, members of the Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Branch, and other Officers.
