The Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) continues its unwavering commitment to supporting War Heroes and their families, and civil servants through various welfare initiatives aimed at enhancing their living standards. In a significant step towards this mission, a special donation programme was held at the Office of the President of the ASVU on the morning of 22nd January 2025.
The event marked the distribution of essential resources, including 100 plastic chairs and 10 plastic tables for the community restaurants operated under the ASVU, as well as 1,500 books for the children of War Heroes and civil servants. These contributions aim to improve the facilities available to the community and provide educational support for the children.
Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event also witnessed the participation of the Assistant Director of Fonterra and other officials from the institution, highlighting the partnership between the ASVU and private organizations in advancing welfare initiatives.
Additionally, the Colonel (Coordinator) of the ASVU and a group of Senior Officers were present to lend their support and appreciation for the programme.
