Under the guidance of Major General W.M.S.C.K Wanasinghe RSP USP, General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division and Colonel of the Regiment of the Mechanised Infantry Regiment (MIR), and with the supervision of Mrs Nilanthi Wanasinghe, the Chairperson of the MIR Seva Vanitha Branch (MIR-SVB), a new house was constructed for a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer.
The housewarming ceremony was held on 19th January 2025, presided by the Centre Commandant, Mechanised Infantry Regiment (MIR).
The financial assistance for this project was provided by a donor under the concept of 'Hisata Sevanak,' with the coordination of Major General Anil Peiris (Retd) RSP USP psc. The 5 (V) MIR contributed labour support and locally sourced materials to ensure the successful completion of the house.
Additionally, the MIR-SVB donated an electric item worth Rs 20,000.00 and a dry ration pack during the opening ceremony.
Senior members of the MIR-SVB, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
