The Sri Lanka Army Corps of Agriculture and Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch (SLACAL-SVB) donated 50 essential maternity aid packs to pregnant mothers of SLACAL, as well as to mothers from surrounding villages in Karandeniya at the Regimental Headquarters on 26 October 2024.
The event was conducted under the guidance of the Chairperson of SLACAL-SVB, Mrs. Varuni Kulatunge. A nutritious breakfast, morning tea, and lunch were organised by the 2(V) SLACAL to provide healthy meals for these underprivileged mothers. Dr. T. Praneeth delivered a timely lecture covering all important aspects of pre- and post-pregnancy care, followed by an engaging question and answer session for the mothers.
Major General S.A. Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, Commander, Security Forces (East), and the Colonel Commandant of SLACAL, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Senior officers, Officers and SVB members participated in the event.
