Under the guidance of Mrs. Iresha Fernando, the Chairperson of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLAOC-SVB) in collaboration with the School of Ordnance, conducted a community assistance programme at "Mawpiya Sewana" Elders' Home in Horana on 01 October 2024 in conjunction with the upcoming 75th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army and the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, in line with the World Elders’ Day.
Major General E.M.M Fernando Hdmc Lsc AATO, Commander of Logistics Command and the Colonel Commandant of the SLAOC graced the event as the Chief Guest along with the chairperson of SLAOC-SVB.
The day’s activities included the donation of essential items for the home's residents, a comprehensive cleaning programme, and a delicious lunch for the elders followed by a Calypso entertainment session.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
