ASVU Inaugurates the Newly Established “Army Seva Vanitha Wetland Café”

The Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) inaugurated the "Army Seva Vanitha Wetland Cafe," located near the walking track at Army Headquarters, in collaboration with Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS) on 01 October 2024.

Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, the President of ASVU, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and declared the new facility open for public use. Over 450 children of Viru Kekulu Preschool and their families participated in the event. This space creates opportunities for public use that promote community welfare. Following the official opening, several competitions were organised for the children, and gift packs were given to the winners and other participating children. During the programme, snacks were provided by CCS.

Afterwards, the President posed for a group photograph with the children. Major General S.P.A.I.M.B. Samarakoon Hdmc Lsc, Deputy Chief of Staff and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, members of ASVU, Senior Officers, Officers, staff of CCS and Other Ranks participated in the event.
