Under the guidance of Mrs. Varuni Kulatunge, the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Army Agriculture and Livestock Seva Vanitha Branch (SLACAL-SVB), a donation programme was organized by 1 SLACAL to provide essential maternity items worth Rs. 20,000.00 to 32 pregnant spouses of soldiers in the regiment. The event took place on 28 September 2024 at 1 SLACAL, Nochchiyagama.
Additionally, all recipients were served a nutritious meal in the afternoon. During the programme, a lecture on "Postnatal Care" was delivered by Dr. Kapila Disanayaka, Medical Officer of Health – Nochchiyagama.
Major General S.A. Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP, Commander Security Forces (East) and the Colonel Commandant of SLACAL, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, and members of SLACAL-SVB also participated in the event.
